3 stars!
I enjoyed the book, it was very cute and thrilling.
The romance was fast paced which I usually don’t like but because of the mystery aspect it was fine.
Poppy was a very likeable and strong Character, I loved reading about a Single mom who has older kids!
Cade was also a very interesting Character.
My issue with the book was that I didn’t feel that connected to the story, it was very short and fast.
But I do think I would’ve liked it more if I read the other books in the series!!

3.5☆ rounded up

This book was such a fun and quick read!! The type of book I would pick up if I was craving a single mom/overprotective mmc read.

Poppy Walker is a recent divorcee. Her kids are finally off to college and she’s by herself for the first time in forever. In comes Cade de la Rosa, super hot and smooth MMA coach who becomes completely enamored by her.

I love Poppy and Cade’s relationship. At the beginning, Poppy deff made him WORK for her affection which I loved. Given everything she’s been through, it shows how strong of a character she is. And Cade is the definition of acts of service guy. He remembers Poppy’s little quirks and cares about her kids as if they’re his own. I also enjoyed how all the characters in this book were well developed. Sometimes in series with many characters, it’s easy to get lost on who’s who but I didn’t have this issue.

The suspense aspect of this book was interesting too. Albeit a bit predictable, it did add some umf to the story.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotion for the arc in exchange for an honest review!

I loved Shattered Dreams, an incredible romantic thriller by Christina Sol, the third book in her Hudson Island series. Who does not love a first sight romantic thriller with a happily ever after ending? It was an incredible story and I loved reading every moment on every page and it was impossible to put it down. Shattered Dreams was an amazing story and I highly recommend it if you love a romantic thriller. Christina Sol provided her readers with the amazing characters that I loved, who feel like close friends! Her characters in Shattered Dreams are so believable and charming, they share great chemistry, lots of laughs, and steamy romance. I love how she developed the story line and the characters. Christina Sol is a wonderful storyteller and is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I love that she wrote Shattered Dreams from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. Shattered Dreams is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. Shattered Dreams is filled with all those things that I have come to love in a romantic thriller love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Shattered Dreams is the story of Poppy Walker, owner of Rainy Day Boutique and single mom to college freshmen Carter and Dylan, and former MMA champion, Cade de la Rosa, co-owner of De La Rosa Gym. Poppy is recently divorced, and her ex-husband Eli is harassing her at Rainy Day Boutique after receiving his copy of the divorce decree when Cade walks in to make a purchase. Cade once again comes to her rescue when Poppy’s car broke down on the way to the University of Washington to return her son’s backpack that he left behind after spending the weekend on Hudson Island. A ceiling collapse at Cade’s Seattle gym that is later determined to be arson changes their plans and they end up spending the night at Cade’s home in Seattle. As Cade and Poppy continue to spend time together things begin to change between them. They each realize that they have feelings for one another, and things heat up between them. I love the chemistry between Poppy and Cade, how the sparks fly when they are near one another and that it was more than chemistry, it was love. Mysterious events happen involving Poppy and Cade, and a fire is set to the Hudon Island De La Rosa gym with Molotov cocktails while Cade, Dylan and Carter are inside. I love everything that Cade does for Poppy to keep her safe. I love how Poppy shares with Cade what happened in her life when she found out she was pregnant at sixteen and her marriage and bitter divorce with Eli and Cade shared with Poppy the highs and lows of his MMA career and his marriage and divorce. I love Cade and Poppy’s love story, and how Poppy shows her vulnerable side to Cade. Then an unexpected plot twist changes things between them, putting Poppy’s life in danger and leading to Cade admitting his true feelings for her. Loved how Gavin Frazier and his team at Hudson Tactical was able to determine who was behind the mysterious events. I love all the changes that both Poppy and Cade are willing to make in their lives because of their love for one another. My favorite part is the bonus epilogue and how it went above and beyond a happily ever after. I love the tattoos that Cade, Carter, and Dylan all get in Poppy’s honor and the promises and plans that Poppy and Cade make with one another. I love the characters in Shattered Dreams, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between Poppy, Cade, Four, Quinn, Gavin, Matt and the other team member, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I loved being introduced to Gavin and his team as well as being reunited with Matt Alvarez. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? Shattered Dreams is filled with all those things that I love in a romantic thriller, incredible characters, amazing story, poignant and bittersweet moments, and surprise plot twists. Christina Sol did not disappoint in her delivery of those things. I love how she resolved the surprise plot twist; it was truly a heartwarming moment. Looking forward to reading the next book in the Hudson Island series. I received an advanced copy from the author.

This small town, friends to lovers romance blew me away! Cade is everything you could want in a book hero. Handsome, very fit, kind and acts like a gentleman, but is a tiger in the bedroom. He is a former pro MMA champion fighter and now owns of a couple of gyms with his brother. As well as teaching classes, he is now training MMA fighters. He has been content to play the field and avoid serious relationships after his ex divorced him at a time when he needed her support the most. Poppy, a fellow business owner on Hudson Island, has intrigued him for a while now, but she wasn’t free. Now that she is divorced, he is very interested in getting to know her better.

Poppy is a successful businesswoman in her adopted home town. She is also a recently divorced mom of twin boys who are now in university. Pregnant at just sixteen and abandoned by her parents, her ex and everyone else that she thought cared about her, Poppy ended up Portland with her aunt. That is where she met Monty, nicknamed Four, who now owns a bar on Hudson Island. He is Poppy’s best friend and protector. His mom considered Poppy to be part of the family and hated to see her struggle to raise her boys. She left Poppy the boutique and the building it is in, which is fortunate for her now that her spiteful ex has sold their house out from under Poppy. The small apartment she lived in with her boys until she married her ex is vacant so at least Poppy has a place to go.

Poppy is surprised that Cade stepped up protect her when her irate ex showed up in her boutique. Then he shows up to help her boys and Four move her things into the apartment above the boutique. Seeing how he interacts with her boys melts her heart and her resistance to his request for a date. His kindness and gentlemanly manners put her at ease and impress her. As for Cade, he see a different side of her when her boys are around. She is somehow lighter, more vibrant around them and her mom-glaring and stern voice spark him up. Before they can even go out on a date, however, things start to go twisty and sideways. It soon becomes clear that Cade and his brother are a target for someone out for revenge or to prove a point. Poppy’s ex is also up to no good and she is also feeling threatened. Cade’s protective nature comes out in full force and he basically sticks very close to Poppy. Both let down their guards and take a chance on each other. Her boys make things interesting as they also seek to protect their mom…..from him. Their story is steamy, twisty and engrossing with plenty of hilarious moments courtesy of her sons and lots of suspense as Cade, the police and his friends at Hudson Security try to find the person(s) behind the attacks.

I would rate this book at much higher than five stars if I could. If you like a swoon worthy hero, a feisty heroine who keeps him on his toes and a story that includes steamy romance along with intriguing suspense, then I highly recommend that you read this book.

I discovered Christina Sol last year when I devoured book 2 in this series so I jumped at the chance to read book 3. It did not disappoint. I love the enemies-to-lovers trope, but Cade's patience and kindness works wonders for this reader as he slowly wiggles his way into Poppy's battered heart.

Poppy Walker is a woman of strength, resilience, and determination. She has fought her way through some of life's toughest challenges and come out with two loving sons, a business that she loves, and friends and family that have her back. Newly divorced from a narcissistic and emotionally abusive ex-husband she is working on her insecurities and trying to regain her sense of self-worth.

Enter the sincere and incredibly sweet Cade de la Rosa. He's a retired MMA champion and local hero who runs a gym training future fighters. His interest in the beautiful Poppy is immediate and with patience and honesty, gives her strength and safety she never felt before.

Poppy and Cade make an adorable couple and are meant to be. Their empathy for others and their common decency is so refreshing without all of the drama and angst that a lot of couples have. I loved how they had each other's backs and settled each other down when panic would start to set in. Poppy's relationship with her college-aged boys is incredible and very loving. And Cade (what a keeper) did a great job of being mindful of that relationship by being real with the boys about his feelings for their mom.

This book has it's share of twist and turns when someone is trying to destroy Cade's businesses and putting people in danger. I always love a hoard of hot security guys rallying around and protecting the heroine from harm. Yum!

All the characters feel like family and friends with their teasing and deep love for each other. Poppy's boys, Carter and Dylan, give a realistic feel to the story with their teenage antics and protective instincts toward their mom. And Cade's friends and brother Dante give so much support and will drop anything to be there for them.

This sweet small town romance is fun, suspenseful, and steamy. The characters are endearing and the setting is beautiful. I can't wait to read Matt and Scarlett's story.

Thank you to Ms. Sol for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

3rd book in the Hudson Island series and you get another, easy to read, curl up on the sofa, relax in bed type read. This time it's Cade and Poppy's journey. Both Cade and Poppy are divorced, but it's Poppy's (cheating) ex who turns up from time to time, threatening her, destroying her self confidence and generally being a very nasty piece of work. Poppy's twins have just left home and are now at University, these boys, you just want to squish them, the way they love and care about their mother was just so cute and adorable.

Cade is witness to Poppy's ex threatening her, and then gets roped in to assist (by mutual friend) Poppy move. It's really very clear that right from the start Cade is team Poppy all the way, Poppy is a lot more reserved, shy, holding back on her feelings, thinking she's not good enough for Cade.

I did love the way Cade took his time, wooing Poppy, slowly slowly, doing all he can to boost her confidence. Then those twins, Cade treats them with respect, he knows they want to protect their mum, so he talks to them, lets them knowe how he feels, lets them know that he will protect Poppy.

Then we get the suspense element which I think was under played and so much more could have made of that side of the book. There was no Who done it? to speak of, you were easily led to the culprits. However, weaving both Poppy and her twins into that suspense was nicely done and became the glue that Poppy and Cade needed.

This small town romance is sweet, sexy and suspenseful as we make our way through Poppy and Cade's story.

Recently divorced, single mom Poppy who has had her confidence more than beaten by her cheating delusional ex-husband, stands strong and pushes through the steps of life as she runs her thriving business. Thankful for the friends and employees who have stood by her side. But at every turn it seem her ex-husband is determined to knock her down. When Cade happens to see that first hand he is quick to step in and make sure he doesn't get away with it easily.

Cade is a MMA champion who now owns two training facilites with his brother and things are thriving. Focused on business and not really letting any woman in too closely after his divorce. But he finds himself drawn to Poppy and the more time he spends with her the more he is drawn in. The more he wants to be there for her and help flourish her confidence.

This was a refreshing story where two people find a way to support one another, step up to make each others lives easier. Poppy and Cade take turns being the glue that holds the other together in a tough situation. Poppy's boys will melt your heart as they care and protect their mom, while being mature and respectful with this new man in her life.

I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next to come in the series.

This may be my new favorite book. This book has it all, suspense, romance, and the sweetest twin boys. Poppy just went through a divorce, and her ex is a jerk. He spent years beating her down and made fun of her when the town gossip mill started. He deserves everything that comes to him in the end, and I mean EVERYTHING.

After spending years in a bad relationship, she is newly single, and the last thing she needs is a new man. But in walks Cade de la Rosa and he is simply irresistible. Cade is a former MMA fighter, who trains fighters and has his own gym. They have many friends in common but haven’t spent much time together. Cade is completely smitten with Poppy, just hasn’t found an opportunity to ask her on a date.

These two have a lot of obstacles to overcome as the story goes on, but they are there for one another every step of the way. It was easy to fall for Cade, I mean he is amazing with her twin boys and worries about them as if they were his own. These two really understand each other, have great chemistry, and have amazing people surrounding them. It really takes strength on both of their parts to lean on others when the need arises. I really loved the protectiveness in these characters, and I really cannot wait to see what comes next for these characters and their friends. I am really looking forward to the next book, it cannot come soon enough.

Poppy, a single mom who is recently divorced to her horrible ex-husband, just finds out that her ex just sold their house and she needs to move out asap. This turns into a heated confrontation and Cade, a former MMA fighter who owns a local gym steps in to intervene. Cade also ends up hearing word of Poppy needing to move to the apartment above her boutique, that she used to live in with her twin boys when she first moved to Hudson Island, and offers his help. During this time, Poppy & Cade’s chemistry is just undeniable. However, things from there start going astray. Cade and his brother Dante’s gym ends up being targeted and someone sets off an explosive. Poppy’s ex is also up to no good & is threatening her. Cade & Poppy’s relationship ends up being put to the test when dealing with all of these uneasy occurrences.

Ohhh, I loved this sweet, swoony, suspenseful, & spicy romance! Cade is just so unbelievably sweet, swoony, respectful, & protective. Poppy is so strong, selfless, hardworking, & resilient. Poppy is such an amazing mother to her twin boys Carter & Dylan (who they call C & D). The twists and turns in this one just added to the story line to make it so intriguing. I definitely recommend this one!

I think this book might’ve been my favourite yet!

I loved what we saw of Cade in the last book and was definitely intrigued about Poppy. They made an adorable couple together. It was definitely a fastburn, whirlwind romance but I loved how Cade was with Poppy. He truly cared for her and just kept showing up for her in all the best ways. He became a pillar of strength for her and constantly built up the confidence that Eli had previously destroyed.

I enjoyed all the side characters and cameos from previous books but I think my favourites were Poppy’s sons, Carter and Dylan. I loved that they were mumma’s boys and that we got glimpses of them realising how much effort she put into making life good for them. Their relationship with Cade was also incredibly sweet and I loved that they were able to be straight up with each other.

The spice in this book was mid-level but there were a few enjoyable scenes. I appreciated that they weren’t super long or graphic.

The suspense storyline was fun and interesting. It was quite wild to see what the villains put them through and I’m so glad it was resolved quickly. I’m also happy that Eli got what was coming to him. The scene with Mrs Green and the others had me cackling.

Overall this was fun, sweet small town story with a side of romantic suspense and I thoroughly enjoyed devouring it all in one go!

Cade used to be a famous MMA fighter. Cade and his brother created a state of the art gym in Seattle as well as on the island off Seattle where he lived. He may have been big and muscular, but he was a nice, handsome man. Poppy had a boutique on the same island and was just given a divorce from a narcissist man. Luckily her twin boys were not her ex husband’s and were in Seattle going to University and loved their mother. There were two stories going on in the story that I was not sure if they wood intercept. I wanted to do some not nice things to Poppy’s ex with how he was still treating Poppy after being divorced. While all that was going on poor Cade had someone or someone’s trying to disrupt both his and his brother’s gyms that could possibly hurt people. I loved watching Cade and Poppy fall in love, and treat her like a woman should be treated. There were some scary things happening that was so exciting. There were some sweet times between Poppy and her boys. It was fun watching Poppy try to reel in her boys, especially with their language! I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it.

My first read by this author and it won't be my last one as I've really enjoyed reading this story but I also love small town books; it was also combined with suspense so right up my alley. It had great fun moments but also connected with emotional scenes; a great combination. I loved the chemistry between Cade & Poppy as you could feel the connection growing throughout the story. Loved the protectiveness side of Cade as well. A great read!

Poppy has been focused on her store as it's been thriving but her ex-husband still causes issues for her as he continues to harass her but she tries really hard to not let it get to her. As she needs to move, her boys and friends will gladly help her out. Trying to find a new normal, there's something about Cade that intrigues her. Cade hasn't been really dating but there was always something interesting about Poppy but he never really gotten to know her. As he tries to pursue her, there's a lot that's going on around them and danger seems to be lurking around. While trying to figure out what is going on, their relationship grows stronger. Will everything be okay in the end?...

It has suspense, it has drama, it has romance, all mixed in a perfect blend balanced with tit bits of humor here and there with the showcase of strong family like connections with people you have met along the way in your life.

I loved this book so much. It has everything from spice to sweet.

Poppy is fresh out of a messy divorce while her twin sons are out for higher studies when she meets Cade a former MMA champion and current sweetheart. Both of these characters weave through a series of events that makes this a lot more fun to read.

The author keeps you on the edge with the anticipation of what's to come next and keeps on building the tension with each passing page.

Cade is such a well written cinnamon character. He is understanding, loving, caring, protective and everything you could ever ask for in a man. Him and his relations with the twins and his own friends was the second best thing about this book.

The first being the obvious explosive chemistry between both the main characters. It's hard to miss it and you are hooked to their lives. Their pair is crackling and imperfectly perfect.

Once you start, you don't want the book to end. It's just so captivating and beautiful.

Ps: Since it's not a book from the mystery thriller genre please don't expect that level of suspense or thrill from this book. It has a decent amount of various themes effortlessly combined and written. It's seamless and fun to read.

This is my first read by Christina Sol…it won’t be my last. Shattered Dreams brings us the story of Cade and Poppy. She’s just getting out of a terrible relationship. He’s friends with her pseudo-brother and always around. Poppy has led a hard life, abandoned by her parents when she is pregnant at 16 with twins. She had some guardian angels along the way but it’s absolutely incredible how strong she is to overcome what she has. She gets knocked down a bit by her ex but from the beginning of this story, she’s all about finding that inner core of strength again. Enter in her 18 year old, college freshman boys, who have grown into amazing young men and you can tell what kind of person she is to have raised them. Cade is supportive and accepting of exactly who Poppy is, which is probably my favorite part of the story. He knows that she doesn’t need him, but he’s there for her anyway. The island is full of wonderful characters that I hope all get stories of their own. I’ll definitely be around to read them because as I said, this may have been a first read but it won’t be a last by this author!

This was an addictive read with a sweet yet spicy romance, some suspense and a little danger.

Poppy and Cade were perfect for each other and I quickly got caught up in their story. Poppy is a strong woman who has gotten the short straw more than her fair share. As a newly divorced woman with her twin sons away at college, she’s alone for the first time. Her ex-husband is a hateful slug that caused her much misery in their marriage. When sexy Cade de la Rosa steps into her life, Poppy isn’t used to the positive attention, support or affection - which says so much about her life to this point.

Cade’s appreciation of Poppy as a woman and a mother was sweet and sexy. He was so good with her boys, and so supportive of Poppy. The storyline’s suspenseful plot was a little jarring because it really didn’t seem to fit other than to add reasons for some of the other Hudson Island residents to be part of the story and the added drama.

I’m hoping to see a few characters end up with their own future stories (Four, Gavin).

I received a free ARC from the author and Grey’s PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Book 3 in the Hudson Island Series and it was just a great read.
This had a bit of everything, with drama, suspense, family, love, small town feel, witty banter and spice.
Poppy is fresh from a bitter divorce. She has two amazing 18 Yr old twin boys that love and are very protective of her. Carter and Dylan were a reflection on how an amazing mum she was despite having them when she was 16. Poppy had had a hard life and yet she continues to be such a strong, sassy and loving woman. Her ex is vindictive and is still making her life a misery.
Cade may be a muscular ex MMA champion but he was a total cinnamon roll kind of guy. Super sweet, caring, loving and very protective of those he cares about. He runs a high end gym and he has his own problems, as someone is trying to damage his business.
When he meets Poppy he kind of knows straight away she is it. I loved how patient he was and tread carefully as he knew Poppy needed time. I loved their chemistry and relationship. They really were perfect together.
The he melts my heart with how he is with her boys *swoon*.
Great book with interesting plot that keeps you hooked throughout.

Freshly divorced single mom Poppy is trying to rebuild her life after escaping her toxic marriage. A run-in with her ex puts her in the crosshairs of former-MMA fighter Cade. He's handsome. He's kind. And he wants to protect her from her ex, all while trying to figure out who's targeting his gyms.

Romantic suspenses are quickly becoming a favorite genre, and Shattered Dreams is why! The romance is the primary focus of the story, but there's plenty of suspense woven in. Poppy and Cade were so supportive of each other through their trials! He stood by during the insane things her ex did, and she was Cade's rock when the attacks occurred at his gym. He was also so good with her sons! I have a sixteen year old, so I know how protective those teenage boys can be. Cade knew exactly how to handle them while respecting their boundaries and teaching them to grow as young men.

If you're looking for a tough-as-nails cinnamon roll hero and a woman regaining her self-confidence, you need to read Shattered Dreams!

Thank you, Christina Sol and Grey's Promotions, for the opportunity to read this book. I loved it!

I loved this book, not just for the fantastic main couple, Poppy and Cade, but for all of the strong supporting characters, especially twins Carter and Dylan….Poppy’s boys. For college freshman, they are amazingly mature, but still mama’s little boys. I often dislike characters of this age, but Ms. Sol brought a richness to them that I just took to.
Weird praising the FMC’s children before she or her male counterpart, I know! Maybe they brought out something special in Poppy that might not have been there her boys were younger. Or didn’t connect with Cade like they did. Idk!
Poppy and Cade were a fast burn once they got together. He respects her as a single mom and tries to go slow…but there’s no denying that chemistry. He’s uber protective, too, which is good because there’s some danger and intrigue in this book which also elevates the storyline. That aspect kept me reading literally past my normal bedtime…I couldn’t let the mystery go unsolved.
Full of heat, great characters, humor and danger, Shattered Dreams is my favorite, so far, of this series.

Sweet and exciting addition to this small-town romance series. Cade and Poppy were great together, but the real stars were Poppy’s sons. Both of whom were extremely protective of their mom and they had a solid straight-forward relationship with Cade. Poppy had emotional roadblocks from her previous marriage from her ex always putting her down. I loved seeing Cade’s care and attention of her to help build her self-confidence. Their relationship was fast building with a lot of outside influence and conflict that kept the story moving at a nice pace and held attention. I enjoyed seeing them work together to build their relationship on a solid foundation and work to get to find resolutions to their problems. It was also great to see previous characters adding to the storyline. Overall, this was a fun, exciting read with family, friends, humor, drama, suspense, and romance.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own.

Romantic suspense is my favorite genre and I really loved this book! This is a small town, friends to lovers, single parent book and I think the author made all of these tropes work really well. The mystery and suspense and action just added a cherry on top to the romance I enjoyed. Poppy is such a strong woman who has been through so much, and I admire how resilient and brave she really is. Cade is so sweet and you really wouldn't think so upon first glance, but he is so caring and loving and just wants to be there for Poppy and to help her. Cade is an MMA champion, and I don't often see that sport represented in books, so I really liked that aspect. The found family and side characters were something else I really liked, and made me enjoy the plot and book that much more. I really loved this book and think you will too!

Thank you to Grey's Promotions and Christina Sol for the eARC of this book!

Shattered Dreams is book 3 in Christina Sol’s Hudson Island Series.

Poppy is a business owner, mom of twin boys who are away at college and very newly divorced.

Cade is a local Gym owner and former professional fighter.

Cade is taken by Poppy right away but being newly divorced, Poppy is more hesitant. He may have had to work a bit to get Poppy to come around but when she did they were perfect together. I loved the chemistry between them. Cade is definite book boyfriend material. Not only was he amazing with Poppy but with her boys as well. He showed them how a man should treat a woman and proved to them that he could love and respect their mom like she deserves.

I discovered Christina Sol last year with her Spotted Dog series and have devoured everything she writes since then. I love that her books are suspenseful but not overly dark. Shattered dreams gave me everything I love in a book. Small town, spicy, suspenseful with great characters and a great storyline.

I liked the idea of the plot and Romantic Suspense is a genre that I started reading years ago and love it. This story had parts that I did like and other that I could do without. It said it could be read as a stand alone in an interconnect series but maybe it was me, I felt lost at times and thinking maybe if I read the first two books I would know a little of something going on.

I normally don't have any issues with insta-love but this one wasn't sitting right with me for some reason. MMC is a total gentleman and what's not to like about him and the FMC was good, nothing stuck with me about her. When bad things start to happen it felt like it was out of the blue, this is where my thinking of reading the first two books comes into play.

Overall Shattered Dreams was an ok read.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Shattered Dreams and this is my honest review.

What a great addition to this series! I’ve loved all of the books thus far, but I think this one might be my favorite!

Poppy and Cade get together pretty quickly, but I loved how gentle and caring Cade was with Poppy. She had some serious insecurities thanks to her ex, but Cade was so patient with her.

But the real stars? The boys! Talk about two solid young men. Poppy’s boys were so sweet and adorable, but they were also fiercely protective of their mama! I loved how much of them we get to see in the book.

The suspense in this book is turned up a notch compared to the others in the series in my opinion. At every turn it seemed like something crazy was happening - it was hard to catch my breath and figure out what was going on!

Overall this was sweet small town story with a side of romantic suspense and I’m excited to see where the series goes next.

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

This small-town romantic suspense is full of danger, humor, plenty of interesting side characters, and alpha males. Poppy is a successful businesswoman whose divorce has just become final. And while her self-confidence may have taken a bit of a hit from her ex, she does still have a sassy side. Cade is a former MMA champion who now owns a couple of gyms along with his brother and nothing brings his protective side out quicker than a bully trying to intimidate a woman.

I loved how the relationship between Cade and Poppy developed, the support they received from each other and from family and friends, and the suspense of determining who was behind the events happening to Poppy and the gyms.

Romance and Danger on Hudson Island!!

We meet Poppy Walker as she is just getting final papers for her divorce. Her ex Eli is working to extract maximum pain. Her twin boys are off at college - she had them young. Eli was step dad to them, at first.

Cade de la Rosa owns a local gym, and is famous for his MMA accolades. Now he coaches and teaches, his brother runs the Seattle location. When Eli threatens Poppy in Cade's presence, he calls for help. He would be in trouble if he intervened - something about a “deadly weapon”.

Thus begins a witty, romantic, and fascinating chain of events which will be sure to entertain the reader - they sure did this one!! Totally enjoyed this!

This is my first book by Christina Sol and my first in this series, it will not be my last.

I adored Poppy and Cade's story. With this story we have a single mom and 2 divorced adults.

Poppy is a business owner and a mom to 2 college boys (Twins Carter and Dylan). Poppy is newly divorced and ready to move on with her life. What she doesn't expect is for Cade de la Rosa to enter her life in a way she never expected.

Cade de la Rosa is a former MMA fighter. He is divorced and not looking for a relationship. Cade doesn't see Poppy coming but he also can't fight the attraction he has to her. But someone is out to sabotage his business/life will it keep Poppy away?

I adored this book! I read it so fast in one day because while it had suspense it was a great feel good romance. This book is fast paced and you will fall in love with the characters in this book/town. Cade is patient with Poppy, he wants to take their relationship at her pace and lets her guide them. The way Cade helps Poppy with her confidence is everything we want to see with an MMC. Cade is very protective over Poppy and her boys and when someone is threatening him he will do everything to make sure Poppy and her boys are safe. Poppy is very communicative with her wants/needs in the relationship with Cade. They are a strong couple and I loved watching them fall in love and grow together to get the happiness they both deserve.

I can't wait to read more books in this series and by this author.

Thank you Greys Promotions for the ARC of this book.

This is the third book in this incredible series, and this is Cade and Poppy’s story.
Cade is a divorced, famous MMA fighter, and Poppy is a single mom and small-town boutique owner, who has survived a bitter divorce from a man who has destroyed her self-confidence.
This is a well written story which had family, friendships, emotions, danger, suspense, intrigue, trust, friends / lovers, humor, witty banter, palpable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy small town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Shattered Dreams is the third book in the Hudson Island series. This one is Poppy and Cade's story. It definitely can be read as a stand alone book. I really enjoyed this one. Cade and Poppy were so adorable. I loved how Cade made Poppy feel beautiful and desired. She really deserved to finally feel all of that. I also loved how her twins interreacted with Cade and how protective they were of their mom. It was very sweet. The mystery and the action was pretty intense and it made me want to keep reading. I am loving this series and I can't wait for the next book.

Shattered dreams is a romance thriller that did not disappoint. It had great leading characters and a excellent story line. Throw in small town romance, friends to lovers, found family and suspense and this made for one great read!! Ms. Christina Sol knew exactly how to capture and keep my attention throughout the story. The chemistry between the Poppy and Cade was amazing. I also just really love small town reads, because I love how side characters keep you wanting more. This was a fast paced read, and I definitely would recommend this book to others. Oh and I can’t wait for the next one!!
